Bedphones are sleep headphones that were created by Eric Dubs, a location-independent product developer. With a background in mechanical engineering, a passion for music and a desire for a great night's sleep, Eric set out to solve an issue plaguing music-lovers and poor sleepers everywhere: no headphones were comfortable enough to wear to bed.
Creating sleep headphones up to this task wasn't easy. Along with computer-aided designs, Eric created nearly one-hundred hand-made prototypes to get the sound quality, thickness and adjustability as perfect as possible. The recently-released Bedphones (Gen. 2) took over a year of research and development to bring to fruition, painstakingly re-designed to address feedback obtained from tens of thousands of customers.
Bedphones (Gen. 2) are 15% thinner than our original sleeping headphones, have a shorter and more ergonomic ear hook design to keep Bedphones snug against your ears, and include a higher-quality blue TPE cable. Furthermore, Bedphones are now available in either black or white with an optional inline microphone with remote to take calls on the go and control your music without touching your phone.
According to a study conducted by the popular UK travel website Travelodge, "eight out of ten Britons rely on music to help them nod off. Studies from around the world have highlighted that listening to music does relax you." Many Bedphones customers have told us that our product has literally changed their lives by allowing them to sleep better and drown out the noises of CPAP masks (sleep apnea), tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and other sleep-related illnesses. Even America's National Sleep Foundation recommends "calming music" as a treatment for insomnia. Bedphones are such a useful tool for sleep, the original model was featured on both The Dr. Oz Show and Good Morning America.
In short, Bedphones are not only stylish and sound great, but also serve a specific, pervasive need - the need for a better night's sleep. If you're pleased with our product or have any problems at all, please let us know through the contact form on our FAQ page.
